Enterprise Singapore, in partnership with SIX-EV, Africa Logistics Properties, and TMF Group Egypt, hosted a virtual roundtable to explore opportunities in Africa’s transport and logistics sector. The session focused on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and its role in driving economic integration and infrastructure development.

Panellists shared insights on major advancements in land transport, railway expansion, and logistics technology. Discussions covered key infrastructure projects, including the addition of 26,500 km of railways and eight new land corridors, such as the Abidjan-Lagos Road project. The e-commerce sector was also highlighted, with projections indicating over 500 million active users by 2025, growing at a steady 17.9% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) since 2017.
Additionally, the roundtable addressed Africa’s increasing investment in digital adoption and automation, with USD 10 billion allocated across 48 countries to enhance efficiency in transport and logistics. The growing green logistics sector was another focal point, with the African electric truck market expected to expand by 8.7% annually from 2024 to 2030.

The session also underscored opportunities for Singaporean companies in areas such as infrastructure design, warehouse solutions, e-commerce, cybersecurity, and electric mobility. Participants were encouraged to explore business prospects in Africa’s evolving logistics landscape.
Enterprise Singapore announced that the next Africa Transport & Logistics virtual roundtable, focusing on maritime and air transport, would take place on March 20, 2025, at 4:30 PM SGT.
