India’s Secretary (East), Jaideep Mazumder, met with Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, on 7 March 2025 in Singapore. They discussed ways to further strengthen the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reinforcing ongoing collaboration across multiple sectors.

As part of his visit for the Foreign Office Consultations, Mazumder also engaged with representatives from Singaporean think tanks, academia, and media at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore. He spoke on the topic of “India’s Relations with Singapore and Southeast Asia,” highlighting key areas of cooperation and shared regional priorities.

Additionally, Mazumder met with Dr Beh Swan Gin, Permanent Secretary at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. Their discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation under the six pillars identified by the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, aiming to further deepen economic and strategic ties.

The visit reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic partnerships, fostering greater engagement across trade, policy, and academic dialogues.
