
Jakarta hosts international expo, boosting global reach for local furniture and craft industries.
JAKARTA, Indonesia — The Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2025, held from 6th to 9th March at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), showcased the nation’s burgeoning furniture and craft sectors to a global audience.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, underscored the event’s significance in promoting Indonesia’s creative industries. “IFEX serves as an invaluable platform for our artisans to present their craftsmanship to the world, fostering opportunities for expansion and collaboration,” she remarked.
The expo attracted over 12,000 international buyers, reflecting a robust interest in Indonesian products. Exhibitors reported substantial order volumes, indicating a positive trajectory for the industry.
The Ministry of Creative Economy participated actively, featuring works from four notable home decor enterprises: Abbacraft (Jakarta), Maharani (Solo), Craftote (Solo), and Manamu (Bali). This initiative aimed to highlight the diversity and quality inherent in Indonesian design.
Jointly organised by the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) and PT Dyandra Promosindo, IFEX 2025 not only spotlighted traditional artistry but also emphasised modern innovations, aligning with global market trends.
The event’s success underscores Indonesia’s potential to be a leading player in the international furniture and craft markets, contributing positively to the nation’s economic growth.
