Strengthening Bilateral Ties: Kuwait and Singapore Commemorate Milestones in Friendship and Diplomacy

Singapore, 25 February 2025 – In a momentous celebration, Kuwait marked its 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day with a distinguished gathering in The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, underscoring the nation’s resilience, progress, and unwavering unity. The event also highlighted a significant diplomatic milestone—2025 marks the 40th anniversary of Kuwait-Singapore diplomatic relations, a testament to the enduring partnership between the two nations.

Held in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, the celebration was graced by Her Excellency Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Ministry of Transport, as the Guest of Honour. Also in attendance were Ms Joan Pereira, Member of Parliament, representatives from diplomatic missions, international organisations, and prominent business leaders.

The occasion served as a platform to reflect on the deep-rooted ties between Kuwait and Singapore, forged through decades of cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening these relations under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, and His Excellency Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore.

In his remarks, the Kuwaiti envoy expressed appreciation for the enduring friendship between the two countries and looked forward to expanding collaborations in key sectors. The evening featured cultural performances, a showcase of Kuwait’s heritage, and networking opportunities, reinforcing the shared aspirations for prosperity and mutual growth.
