The new office aims to support cross-border investment and business growth through the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

A new Joint Project Office has been officially launched at the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Joint Business and Investment Forum, marking a significant step in enhancing cross-border collaboration. The initiative is a joint effort by Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Enterprise Singapore, and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

The JS-SEZ aims to promote regional economic integration and strengthen business connectivity between Singapore and Malaysia. It offers opportunities for companies on both sides to scale operations, drive innovation, and tap into expanded supply chains.

Speaking at the launch, Cindy Khoo, Managing Director of Enterprise Singapore, highlighted the zone’s potential: “The JS-SEZ creates exciting opportunities for Singapore companies to scale and innovate.”

She cited success stories including SP Manufacturing Pte Ltd, which established a digitally integrated smart facility in Senai, and ofi, which expanded its presence with an upgraded plant in Tanjung Pelapas and a new Ingredient Excellence Centre. Additionally, Archisen’s partnership with FarmByte in Johor has enabled the development of a large-scale, automated vertical farm.

The JS-SEZ represents more than a geographical location—it is positioned as a strategic model for regional economic integration, fostering deeper partnerships between businesses, institutions, and governments across borders.
