A networking event to promote Sri Lanka’s IT industry was held on 24 April 2025 at the Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore. The event brought together Sri Lankan IT companies and Sri Lankan-origin IT professionals based in Singapore to explore collaboration, exchange ideas, and support the advancement of the industry back home.

High Commissioner Senarath Dissanayake opened the event by highlighting the importance of the IT sector to Sri Lanka’s economy. He noted that the industry has become a major source of employment and foreign exchange, and underlined the government’s commitment to digital transformation as a means of enhancing public sector efficiency and reducing corruption.

Sri Lankan-origin IT professionals working with global tech firms such as IBM, Oracle, and HP shared their insights and experiences during the event. They expressed their willingness to contribute to the development of Sri Lanka’s IT landscape and agreed to explore concrete ways to support the sector.

The visiting representatives from Sri Lankan companies were also in Singapore to attend GITEX Asia 2025, Asia’s largest and most global tech, start-up, and digital investments event, held from 23 to 25 April 2025.
