The annual children’s festival Monstrous Fun! roars back this June with creative workshops, cultural showcases, and an exciting new parade through the Civic District.

Families are in for a vibrant weekend as Monstrous Fun! returns from 30 May to 1 June 2025 at The Arts House at The Old Parliament. Organised by Arts House Limited (AHL) as part of Civic District Children’s Season 2025, the event invites children aged five and up to dive into three days of arts, culture, and interactive learning.

The highlight of this year’s festival is Singapore’s first-ever Monster Parade, encouraging children and parents to come dressed in their most creatively monstrous outfits and join a lively march through the Civic District, led by the beloved mascot, Britney. The event features a full line-up of performances and workshops, including the return of jazz legend Louis Soliano, who will lead a Drum-A-Story workshop and a rhythmic digital session to inspire young minds through music and storytelling.

Other exciting activities include Monster Hunt X SOTA, a collaborative treasure hunt created by students from the School of the Arts (SOTA), and Bimbang and the Curios Trunk, a musical storytelling piece presented by Open Score Project. Families can also explore the Giant Poetry Wall, participate in arts and craft activities, and browse multi-language titles at the Book Fair curated for young readers.

“Monstrous Fun! 2025 reflects our mission to create inspiring arts experiences that are accessible to all,” said Sim Wan Hui, Director of Venue Programmes at AHL.

For those seeking an extended arts experience, visitors can also explore Little SIFA at Empress Lawn, an initiative of the Singapore International Festival of Arts, located nearby.
