India and Singapore signed an AEO Mutual Recognition Arrangement during the RHCA meet in Hong Kong, enhancing trade trust and supply chain security
India and Singapore signed the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on 20th May 2025, marking a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral trade relations. The signing took place on the sidelines of the Regional Heads of Customs Administrations (RHCA) meeting held in Hong Kong.
The agreement was formalised between Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) of India, and Mr. Tan Hung Hooi, Director-General of Singapore Customs. The AEO MRA aims to recognise the compatibility of both countries’ Authorised Economic Operator programmes.

This arrangement is expected to facilitate faster and more secure customs procedures for certified companies, thereby promoting trusted trade and improving the efficiency of regional supply chains. It also underscores the commitment of both nations to improving cross-border trade facilitation and enhancing economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
By aligning their customs processes, India and Singapore have taken another step towards mutual trade benefits and regional economic integration. The move is also anticipated to improve predictability for businesses operating between the two countries.
