
MIDA Highlighted Key Developments In Malaysia’s Aerospace And Shipbuilding Sectors During LIMA’25, Advancing Innovation And Collaboration.
During the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA’25) on 20–21 May 2025, MIDA demonstrated its commitment to advancing Malaysia’s aerospace and maritime industries by actively participating in key events that highlighted sectoral innovation and collaboration.
At the MyAero Conference @ LIMA’25, NAICO Malaysia facilitated a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange Ceremony between four strategic partners. These agreements aimed to improve access to financing, talent development, and regulatory support within the aerospace ecosystem. The event also marked the official launch of MyAERO Digital, a national aerospace supply chain platform designed to enhance Malaysia’s competitive edge in high-value aerospace manufacturing and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. The ceremony was officiated by YB Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of MITI, with Mr. Sukri Abu Bakar, Director of MIDA’s Domestic Investment Division, in attendance.
Simultaneously, MIDA co-organised the MIGHT-MIDA Open Forum alongside the Malaysia Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT). The forum, themed “Navigating the Future: Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainable Growth in the SBSR Industry,” centred on technological adoption, public-private partnerships, and sustainable practices within the shipbuilding and ship repair (SBSR) sector. Ms. Habibah Enok, Director of MIDA’s OGML Division, represented the authority at the forum.
MIDA’s participation at LIMA’25 reaffirmed its commitment to driving sustainable growth and innovation within Malaysia’s strategic aerospace and maritime industries.
