
The new site strengthens Malaysia’s high-tech manufacturing and food processing capabilities while supporting sustainable regional food systems.
SHAH ALAM, Selangor, 28 May 2025 – BAADER, a global leader in food processing technology, officially opened its latest production facility, BAADER Food Systems Asia Sdn. Bhd., in Shah Alam. The launch marked a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy for Southeast Asia, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and regional food security.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including the Chief Minister of Selangor, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari; Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Malaysia, Ms. Ulrike Wolf; BAADER Global CEO and Honorary Consul, Ms. Petra Baader; and Ts. Norhizam Ibrahim, Executive Director of Manufacturing Development (Non-Resource) at MIDA. The event celebrated the facility’s role in enhancing Malaysia’s high-tech industrial ecosystem, particularly in advanced food processing.
YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari welcomed BAADER’s investment in Selangor, aligning it with the state’s strategy to create 100,000 high-quality jobs and strengthen its talent pipeline. Meanwhile, MIDA’s CEO, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim, emphasised BAADER’s contribution to sustainable food supply chains and Malaysia’s position as a regional hub for advanced manufacturing technologies.

Honorary Consul Ms. Petra Baader remarked that the new facility represents a long-term commitment to supporting Asia’s growing protein demand. As both a production and innovation hub, the Shah Alam site will offer tailored machinery, digital tools, and data-driven insights for the region’s poultry and fish industries. It complements BAADER’s established presence in Singapore and Beijing, expanding its global support network.
This expansion underscores BAADER’s dedication to localised support, resilient supply chains, and mutually beneficial partnerships across Southeast Asia’s food processing landscape.
