Global leaders convene in Singapore to address urban flood resilience and climate adaptation.
From 23 to 25 June 2025, the Singapore EXPO will host the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) Spotlight 2025, a pivotal event focusing on “Flood Resilient Cities: Adapting to Climate Change.” This gathering aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among city leaders, water utilities, regulators, and industry experts to tackle the pressing challenges posed by climate-induced flooding.
Organised in the alternate years between the main SIWW editions, Spotlight 2025 serves as a platform for in-depth discussions on urban flood resilience. The event will feature a Cities Roundtable, high-level panels, industry forums, and a Solutions Marketplace, facilitating peer-to-peer learning and the exchange of best practices.
A notable aspect of this year’s Spotlight is its co-location with the 41st International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) World Congress. This collaboration will include joint sessions, enhancing interdisciplinary engagement and knowledge sharing between the two events.
The programme commences on Monday, 23 June, with an opening session and the Cities Roundtable, followed by partner events and a welcome reception. On Tuesday, 24 June, attendees can participate in high-level panels and an In-Focus Forum, culminating in a closing dinner. The final day, Wednesday, 25 June, is dedicated to technical visits, providing practical insights into flood resilience strategies.
Throughout the event, the Solutions Marketplace will operate concurrently, showcasing innovative technologies and solutions pertinent to flood resilience and climate adaptation.
SIWW Spotlight 2025 is expected to attract a diverse audience, including senior officials from municipal governments, water utilities, industry leaders, and representatives from international and national water organisations.
