SINGAPORE, The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, visited Singapore on 31 May 2025. During his official engagements, Prime Minister Anwar called on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Both leaders commended the excellent state of bilateral relations and affirmed the importance of continued collaboration to address shared challenges and opportunities. They underscored the need to work even more closely together in a turbulent global landscape.

Prime Minister Anwar also met Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, building on their discussions at the 46th ASEAN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur the previous week. The two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring that bilateral relations continue to grow from strength to strength and yield meaningful outcomes for the people of both nations. The leaders took stock of significant progress in joint projects, including the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
