The High Commission of India celebrates yoga’s global message of unity and well-being at Gardens by the Bay.

Singapore, 21 June 2025 – The 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated at the Supertree Lawn, Gardens by the Bay, with over 300 yoga enthusiasts participating in a vibrant morning of unity and wellness. Organised by the High Commission of India in partnership with Gardens by the Bay, the event highlighted yoga’s role in promoting holistic health and fostering cultural connections.

Guest of Honour Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Manpower, joined the occasion alongside the High Commissioner of India. In his welcome address, the High Commissioner reflected on this year’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” and praised Singapore’s inclusive approach to yoga, emphasising its presence in schools, parks, and community spaces across the island.

Minister Dinesh Vasu Dash underscored yoga’s ability to transcend borders, stating that yoga is accessible to people of all ages, genders, and physical abilities, while also marking the event as a symbol of strong bilateral ties between India and Singapore in this milestone year of 60 years of diplomatic relations.

The yoga session was led by instructors from Vyasa Yoga, who guided participants through asanas and pranayama techniques, ensuring an invigorating and rejuvenating experience for all.The event also paid tribute to the United Nations’ recognition of the International Day of Yoga in 2014.

The High Commission of India extended gratitude to the Minister, participants, Gardens by the Bay, and all involved in the success of the event. Beyond health benefits, the celebration served to reinforce cultural understanding and people-to-people ties between India and Singapore.
