Singapore, 9 July 2025 — As the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board commemorate their 70th anniversaries this year, both institutions have taken the occasion to reflect on their legacy and announce forward-looking strategies to prepare Singapore for the future of work and ageing.

Speaking at MOM’s recent work seminar, Manpower Minister Dr Tan See Leng highlighted the Ministry’s continued commitment to building an inclusive, future-ready workforce under the theme “By Our People, For Our People.” Addressing a gathering of tripartite partners, trade associations, and business leaders, Dr Tan acknowledged the Ministry’s pivotal role in shaping industrial relations and economic development, while outlining its three key priorities: career empowerment, workplace fairness, and retirement security.

Among the new initiatives announced was Career Health SG, a programme aimed at helping Singaporeans future-proof their careers. Dr Tan also revealed that reviews would soon be launched on pressing issues such as retirement adequacy and senior employment support. “Together with our tripartite partners, we will continue to champion human potential and build an inclusive workforce,” he said.

The CPF Board has also launched Plan Life Ahead, Now! (PLAN)—a digital platform designed to provide Singaporeans with personalised financial guidance, helping them better plan for retirement and navigate life milestones with greater confidence.

Congratulating both MOM and CPF Board, Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) Chairman, Mr Neil Parekh, expressed strong support for their mission. Emphasising the importance of upskilling, particularly among SMEs, he encouraged members to leverage programmes such as SkillsFuture to enhance workforce resilience. “The question of retirement adequacy and retraining is central to the health of our economy and people,” said Mr Parekh.
