As part of a two-nation visit, India’s External Affairs Minister held talks with Singaporean leaders to reinforce strategic and regional cooperation
India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM), Dr S. Jaishankar, undertook an official visit to Singapore from 13 to 15 July 2025, as part of a broader diplomatic tour that also included the People’s Republic of China. The visit reaffirmed the importance of regular high-level engagements between India and its key regional partners.

During his stop in Singapore, Dr Jaishankar met with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, and other senior leaders. The discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation across areas such as trade, digital innovation, defence, and connectivity — in line with the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.
Describing Singapore as being “at the heart of our Act East Policy,” Dr Jaishankar highlighted the value of these exchanges in advancing mutual interests in the Indo-Pacific region. He noted the visit was both productive and insightful, reaffirming shared goals in maintaining regional stability and promoting sustainable development.
The visit also coincided with celebrations marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore, underscoring the enduring strength of the bilateral partnership and its growing relevance in an evolving regional landscape.
