SINGAPORE — The Philippine Embassy in Singapore has congratulated young Filipino musicians who distinguished themselves at the 2025 Music Singapore International Competition, held from 17 to 20 July at the SOTA (School of the Arts) Concert Hall.

The Filipino delegation, representing Camp Jam Performing Arts School under the leadership of founders Ms Hannah Valdez and Dr Jhames F. Labrador — both violinists with the University of the Philippines Symphony Orchestra — achieved high praise in Music Theory, Piano, Violin and Ensemble categories. Several first-prize winners were also invited to showcase their talent at the Gala Concert.
Before the event commenced, Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig, together with Second Secretary and Consul Renee Gayle M. Chua and Cultural Officer Ms Rosellie Bantay, welcomed the Philippine participants to the Embassy on 17 July, offering words of encouragement and support for their performances.
Established in 2020, the Music Singapore International Competition is a prominent annual platform for young musicians across ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. This year’s edition expanded its categories to include cello and flute, in addition to piano, violin and ensemble performances.
The Embassy commended all delegates for demonstrating the Philippines’ dedication to music education and for contributing to the country’s growing reputation for musical excellence on the global stage.
