Creative orchid displays honour national icons and cultural stories at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome.
SINGAPORE — This year’s Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome pays homage to Singapore’s rich heritage through imaginative floral artistry. Running throughout its annual season, the display transforms the iconic conservatory into a vibrant celebration of the orchid, a bloom deeply entwined with the nation’s identity.
Visitors can expect to see striking horticultural interpretations of Singapore’s most beloved landmarks and cultural motifs. Among the highlights is an orchid reimagining of the famous Supertrees — the vertical gardens that now define the city’s skyline. The showcase also features a floral tribute to Peranakan culture, weaving intricate patterns and motifs into living displays that reflect the community’s unique artistic heritage.
In a nod to Singapore’s art history, the display recreates the works of Cultural Medallion recipient Lee Hock Moh, renowned for his evocative orchid paintings. Regular Flower Dome admission applies, and guests are encouraged to plan ahead for a leisurely stroll through this artistic and botanical tribute.
