
Dr Kao Kim Hourn to deliver ASEAN Distinguished Lecture and keynote the 17th ASEAN and Asia Forum during official visit to Singapore
SINGAPORE — At the invitations of the Centre for International Law at the National University of Singapore (CIL) and the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA), Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, will undertake an official visit to Singapore from 4 to 5 August 2025.
As part of the visit, Dr Kao will deliver the CIL ASEAN Distinguished Lecture on 4 August, hosted by the Centre for International Law. The following day, on 5 August, he will provide Keynote Remarks at the 17th ASEAN and Asia Forum, an annual platform for regional dialogue, organised by the SIIA.
In addition to these public engagements, Dr Kao is also scheduled to meet with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, to exchange views on strengthening regional cooperation and advancing ASEAN’s priorities.
Dr Kao’s visit underscores ASEAN’s continued commitment to engaging with academic and policy communities in its Member States, and to fostering open dialogue on key regional and global developments.
