SINGAPORE – More than 8,000 Filipinos living and working in Singapore came together on 17 August 2025 at Suntec Convention Centre for the Fiesta ng Pamilyang Pilipino 2025, a vibrant showcase of music, dance, food, and community activities. The festival carried the theme “Fiesta ng Pamilyang Pilipino,” highlighting the sense of family and the bayanihan spirit that binds the Filipino community in Singapore.

First held last year at the Bayanihan Centre, the fiesta has grown into a much larger celebration, reflecting the enthusiasm of the Filipino community to share their culture. The programme opened with a Holy Mass led by Fr Romeo Yu Chang, followed by performances of traditional dances from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

In his welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, Medardo G. Macaraig, commended the organisers for bringing the community together on such a large scale. He noted that the fiesta was not only a joyful expression of identity and unity but also a testament to the bayanihan spirit that continues to thrive among Filipinos in Singapore.

The day featured talent competitions including Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Collab and Pinoy Power, showcasing some of the best Filipino performers in Singapore. Cultural highlights included a performance by the Philippine-based youth orchestra Pundaquit Virtuosi, who joined the event ahead of their participation in the Global Arts Festival. Popular entertainer Donnalyn Bartolome thrilled the audience with an interactive set, while comedian Alex Calleja provided laughter and humour.

True to its festive theme, the event recreated the atmosphere of a Filipino perya with game booths, food stalls, and cultural exhibits. The Philippine Embassy booth drew long queues with its giveaways, as well as the launch of the book Making a Mark in the Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Entrepreneurs in Singapore, which celebrates Filipino entrepreneurial success stories. Other participating government agencies such as MWO, OWWA, SSS, PAG-IBIG, and PhilHealth also provided services and information.

This year’s fiesta also introduced talks and booths on business and livelihood opportunities for overseas Filipinos, encouraging participants to explore reintegration pathways and support their families back home. The event concluded with the announcement of competition winners, raffle draws, and a community photo session capturing the joyful spirit of the gathering.
