The diplomatic community gathers in Singapore to honour Ambassador Ureerat Chareontoh for her contributions to strengthening bilateral ties during her tenure.
Singapore, 29 September 2025 – The Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador Agustin Garcia-Lopez Loaeza and Mdm. Katya Anaya de la Fuente hosted a farewell reception for Her Excellency Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and close friends of the Royal Thai Embassy, reflecting the respect and high regard in which Ambassador Ureerat is held.
In his tribute, Ambassador Garcia-Lopez praised his Thai counterpart’s distinguished diplomatic career, which has spanned more than three decades. “Your tenure, Madame Ambassador, has been tireless. You have strengthened the bonds between Thailand and Singapore with wisdom, diplomacy, and an unwavering commitment to progress,” he remarked. He highlighted Ambassador Ureerat’s pivotal role in enhancing economic ties, particularly through new agreements in digital commerce, financial technology, and agri-trade, noting that these efforts were “not merely transactional but transformational.”

Ambassador Ureerat, who has served in Singapore since 2022, played a central role in organising the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore earlier this year. The milestone featured cultural performances, business forums, and people-to-people exchanges, reinforcing the strong foundations of partnership.

In her farewell address, Ambassador Ureerat reflected on recent achievements, including the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and the Federation of Thai Industries, as well as the landmark bilateral agreement on carbon credits. “Looking ahead, I am confident that our work will be carried forward in good hands. The future promises exciting cooperation, including the upcoming 15th coordinating meeting of the Singapore–Thailand Civil Service Exchange Programme,” she said.
On a personal note, she expressed deep gratitude for the warmth and friendship extended to her during her tenure. “The community here is more than a professional network. It is a family of mutual support. I will miss my time in Singapore, and I hope the friendships forged will remain unchanged,” she shared. To mark the evening, guests were treated to Thai cultural elements, including traditional cuisine, Thai tea, craft beer, and whiskey, soon to be introduced to the Singapore market.
The event concluded with a toast to continued friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Singapore, as colleagues and friends bid farewell to Ambassador Ureerat with best wishes for her future in Bangkok.
