Singapore deepened collaboration between regulators and industry to support MedTech innovation and regulatory readiness through the inaugural Joint HPRC & MedTech Day Conference.
Singapore, October 2025 – Singapore reinforced its position as a leading global MedTech hub with the successful launch of the inaugural Joint HPRC & MedTech Day Conference, co-hosted by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation’s MedTech Industry Group (SMF MTIG) and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). The event brought together regulators, multinational corporations, startups, and industry leaders to strengthen regulatory capabilities and foster innovation in the MedTech sector.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of SMF MTIG, Mr Yoo Ho Kwang Eugene, highlighted the crucial role MedTech plays in Singapore’s economy, noting that the sector employs around 17,000 professionals and achieved exports valued at SGD 25.21 billion in 2024. He emphasised that Singapore’s standing in the MedTech industry is the result of sustained collaboration across stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
The conference marked a major milestone in Singapore’s commitment to building a resilient and future-ready MedTech ecosystem. Participants discussed key support mechanisms available through SMF, including trade facilitation services, global standards guidance from GS1 Singapore, and sustainability support through the Chief Sustainability Officer-as-a-Service programme.
Speakers also underscored the importance of strong partnerships between industry players and regulators to accelerate product approvals, enhance patient safety, and boost manufacturing competitiveness. The collaboration aims to align regulatory excellence with innovation agility, supporting companies in navigating evolving global standards and compliance requirements.
Looking ahead, SMF MTIG expressed its continued commitment to work closely with government agencies and industry partners—including the Economic Development Board (EDB), A*STAR, and Synapxe—to equip MedTech companies with the capabilities needed to seize new growth opportunities. Businesses were encouraged to join the MTIG network to contribute to and benefit from Singapore’s expanding MedTech ecosystem.
