Secretary Garin actively participated in two ministerial dialogues, where she exchanged insights with her counterparts on regional grid interconnectivity and the adoption of next-generation technologies in ASEAN’s energy landscape. She highlighted the Philippines’ ongoing initiatives to strengthen energy security and shared updates on the country’s progress in developing its nuclear energy programme. In her remarks, she reaffirmed that regional collaboration remains vital in achieving a secure, affordable, and low-carbon energy transition across Southeast Asia.

On 28 October, Secretary Garin delivered the keynote address at the Singapore–International Energy Agency (IEA) Forum titled “Smart, Connected, Secure: Shaping ASEAN’s Energy Security Landscape.” In her address, she emphasised the significance of regional power grid interconnections in enhancing ASEAN’s collective energy security, enabling countries to better integrate renewable energy and strengthen system reliability.

Secretary Garin’s participation at SIEW 2025 reflected the Philippines’ proactive stance in shaping a sustainable energy future. Through cooperation, innovation, and shared responsibility, the Philippines continues to position itself as a key regional player in the global energy transition.
