A distinguished orthopedic surgeon and entrepreneur, Ambassador Anjani K. Sinha arrives in Singapore to strengthen US–Singapore relations and advance cooperation in technology, energy, and security
Singapore, 6 November 2025 – Ambassador Anjani K. Sinha, MD, has officially arrived in Singapore to begin his tenure as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore. His appointment marks a new chapter in the enduring partnership between the two nations, which have shared nearly six decades of close diplomatic, economic, and defence cooperation.
Upon his arrival, Ambassador Sinha expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for his new role. “I am deeply honoured to represent the United States in Singapore, a friend of the United States that is a leading hub for American business and a pillar of regional stability,” he said. “President Trump has asked me to increase our ambitions for cooperation with Singapore, based on mutual respect and shared priorities. In particular, I am eager to work with Singapore in areas such as technology, energy, and security.”
A distinguished orthopedic surgeon by profession, Ambassador Sinha brings a wealth of medical, professional, and entrepreneurial experience to his diplomatic post. “As a physician, I have spent my career connecting with people and delivering results, and I look forward to applying that same spirit of collaboration to deepen the ties between our two countries,” he shared. His appointment underscores the United States’ ongoing commitment to fostering innovation, resilience, and prosperity in its partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region.
For nearly 60 years, the United States and Singapore have maintained a robust and mutually beneficial relationship. Both countries continue to collaborate on key areas such as emerging technologies, energy security, law enforcement, and defence cooperation, contributing to stability and growth across the region. Ambassador Sinha’s leadership is expected to build upon this strong foundation and further advance the strategic and economic partnership between Washington and Singapore.
Ambassador Sinha is joined in Singapore by his wife, Dr Kiki Sinha, a retired anaesthesiologist and former faculty member at New York University. The couple, married for 48 years, have two children and three grandchildren.
