
The Singapore Manufacturing Federation welcomed partners from Mexico and Timor-Leste, strengthening international collaboration and paving the way for a business mission to Mexico later this year.
Singapore 11 November 2025— The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) brought an international touch to its latest TGIF@SMF networking session as it hosted delegates from Mexico and Timor-Leste. The event highlighted SMF’s commitment to expanding global partnerships and supporting Singapore businesses in exploring new markets.
During the session, SMF held productive discussions with representatives from Mexico, focusing on opportunities for cooperation across manufacturing, trade, and industrial innovation. The dialogue underscored Singapore’s interest in diversifying economic linkages and identifying new avenues for growth beyond the region.

The event also provided Singapore an opportunity to congratulate Timor-Leste on its historic entry into ASEAN. SMF noted that Timor-Leste’s accession opens up new prospects for economic integration, regional collaboration, and private sector engagement, reinforcing ASEAN’s vision of an inclusive and interconnected community.
Looking ahead, SMF announced its upcoming Business Mission to Mexico, tentatively scheduled for 30 November to 3 December 2025. Participants will engage key stakeholders in Mexico City and other major commercial hubs. The mission is set to take place alongside an official visit by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, offering Singapore companies enhanced visibility and high-level support.
SMF expressed appreciation to its new members, delegates, and partners who joined the networking session, emphasising that such engagements are crucial to building strong, globally focused business connections that will benefit Singapore’s manufacturing sector.
