Singapore reaffirmed its strong partnership with India at the 30th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit 2025, held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr K. Shanmugam, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ms Gan Siow Huang, participated in the Inaugural Session, underscoring Singapore’s continued commitment to deepening economic and strategic ties with India.

The Inaugural Session was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted India’s significant economic transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, noting the government’s role in lifting millions out of poverty through sustained economic activity and inclusive growth. He also acknowledged the efforts of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu in creating a conducive business environment that has strengthened investor confidence.

The Vice-President emphasised India’s position as the world’s fourth-largest economy, attributing this progress to major reforms in taxation, infrastructure, and digital innovation. He also celebrated India’s thriving start-up ecosystem—currently the third largest globally—and expressed optimism about India becoming a key exporter of clean technology while maintaining environmental sustainability.

During the summit, Ms Gan Siow Huang announced, “We also signed the Andhra Pradesh-Singapore Memorandum of Understanding to establish a framework of cooperation in areas of sustainable urban governance, digital transformation, human resource development and sustainable economic development.” This MoU aims to further enhance collaboration between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh as both sides work towards shared goals in innovation, sustainability, and economic growth.

The event was attended by distinguished leaders including the Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri S. Abdul Nazeer; Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu; Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal; Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu; and several other Union Ministers and dignitaries. The summit served as a significant platform for strengthening partnerships centred on technology, trust, and trade—areas that are expected to shape the future of India–Singapore cooperation.
