On 28 November 2025, Mrs Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, met representatives from Temasek Holdings in Singapore. The meeting included Mr Aftab Mathur, Managing Director for Innovation and Emerging Technologies, Mr Adrian Chung, Director for Institutional Relations, and members of Temasek’s Investment Team.

The discussions centred on strengthening the startup ecosystem across Southeast Asia, with particular emphasis on innovation-driven startups. Both sides examined key challenges such startups faced, including scaling across borders, securing sustainable funding, and the need for supportive government policies that foster long-term growth.

Mrs Chartsuwan highlighted Thailand’s priority in helping Thai startups gain access to investor networks and expand into international markets. The dialogue also explored Temasek’s criteria for assessing startup potential at various stages of development, as well as the organisation’s strategic direction and upcoming initiatives to support the ASEAN innovation landscape.

The engagement underscored a shared commitment to building a resilient regional innovation economy. Strengthening the startup ecosystem was seen as essential to enhancing ASEAN’s overall competitiveness and supporting future economic growth based on technology, creativity and sustainable development.
