A Homecoming Gala for participants of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme who returned to Singapore this year was held on 3 December 2025 at The Japanese Association, Singapore. The event brought together JET alumni, officials, and partners to celebrate shared experiences and enduring bilateral connections between Singapore and Japan.
The programme opened with remarks by Ambassador Ishikawa Hiroshi, followed by a speech and toast by Mr Takano Kazuki, Executive Director of the Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (J.CLAIR) Singapore. Both speakers underscored the importance of the JET Programme in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.

JET returnees delivered presentations reflecting on their experiences living and teaching in Japan. They shared insights into daily life, community engagement, and cultural exchange, highlighting how the programme had contributed to personal development and cross-cultural appreciation.
The event also featured an introduction to the JET Alumni Association (JETAA) Singapore by its President, Ms Hoong Shao Ting, who outlined opportunities for continued engagement among alumni and support for future participants.
The Homecoming Gala reaffirmed the role of the JET Programme as a key platform for nurturing long-term people-to-people ties between Singapore and Japan, encouraging continued participation and collaboration in cultural and educational exchanges.
