Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Malki of Qatar met with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan on Wednesday, 21 January 2026 to commence his official duties, reviewing bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and global issues
His Excellency Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Malki, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Singapore, met His Excellency Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, on Wednesday, 21 January 2026. The meeting took place on the occasion of the Qatari Ambassador’s official assignment to the country.
During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, to His Excellency Dr Balakrishnan, along with his best wishes for good health and happiness, and for the continued progress and prosperity of the Government and people of Singapore.
The Ambassador also handed His Excellency the Minister a copy of the message addressed by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to His Excellency Mr Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of Singapore.
Discussions focused on ways and mechanisms to strengthen and develop bilateral relations, in a manner that supports the strategic partnership between the two countries. The review highlighted the strength of existing relations and the convergence of views on issues of mutual interest.
Additionally, the two sides exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and discussed a number of topics of common interest, further cementing the strong ties between Qatar and Singapore.
