The engagements highlighted Saudi Arabia’s community outreach, economic diplomacy, and cooperation in innovation and sustainable development with Singapore
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Singapore, Mohammad Alghamdi, participated in a series of community and economic engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across cultural, commercial, and strategic sectors.
The Ambassador attended The Big Lohei event organised by Suntec Singapore in conjunction with Chinese New Year. The community gathering brought together partners and business representatives from diverse backgrounds, reflecting Singapore’s multicultural landscape and supporting continued engagement between communities. The event also served as an opportunity to reinforce people-to-people connections that underpin broader bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

In a separate engagement, Ambassador Alghamdi joined Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Singapore’s Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, and Kadir Maideen, Chief Executive Officer of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura), to launch the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Dates Gift programme in Singapore. The initiative, conducted during Ramadan, involved the distribution of 1,500 cartons of dates through mosques and community institutions. The programme formed part of Saudi Arabia’s annual outreach efforts to support Muslim communities abroad and to promote solidarity during the holy month.

The Ambassador also met Tonya Tan, Founder and Business Development Director of World Future Enterprises, where discussions focused on expanding Saudi–Singapore business cooperation. The meeting explored collaboration in market research, partner identification, curated business-to-business meetings, and the organisation of business delegations, with the objective of enhancing bilateral trade and investment flows.

In addition, Ambassador Alghamdi held talks with William Zhang, Secretary-General of the Nanyang International Club, a professional network of business leaders. Discussions covered potential cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence, clean energy, and capacity development, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification agenda.
Observers noted that the series of engagements reflected a comprehensive approach to diplomacy, combining cultural outreach, religious cooperation, and economic partnership-building. As Saudi Arabia and Singapore continue to explore collaboration in emerging sectors, sustained dialogue at both community and institutional levels is expected to support steady growth in bilateral relations.
