Indonesia advances economic diplomacy in Singapore through product promotion, tourism outreach, and MSME support at Ramadan Bazaar 2026.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, Hotmangaraja Pandjaitan, officially inaugurated the KBRI Singapore Pavilion at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2026 on 21 February. The Pavilion forms part of the Embassy’s economic diplomacy efforts to promote Indonesian products, tourism, and services in Singapore during the annual Ramadan event.

The Bazaar, which runs from 14 February to 21 March 2026, is one of Singapore’s major annual Ramadan events, attracting significant public participation. KBRI Singapore’s participation was positioned as an outreach initiative aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s commercial presence and fostering closer economic engagement with businesses and consumers in Singapore.
Through the Pavilion, the Embassy facilitated the promotion of Indonesian halal products, modest fashion, Nusantara culinary offerings, as well as tourism packages and hospitality services. The Pavilion featured two Indonesian culinary booths, one curated modest fashion retail booth, and one tourism booth involving travel and hospitality stakeholders showcasing various destinations across Indonesia.

The Embassy stated that its participation reflected a strategic approach to expanding market access for Indonesian businesses while reinforcing trade and partnership networks. By collaborating with Indonesian enterprises and local partners in Singapore, the initiative sought to encourage increased bilateral trade and tourism flows.
KBRI Singapore also noted that the Ramadan period, marked by high visitor turnout and strong public engagement, provided an effective platform to directly introduce the competitiveness and quality of Indonesian products to consumers and potential partners. The initiative further reaffirmed the Government of Indonesia’s commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the creative economy sector in accessing regional markets.
In addition to commercial promotion, the Pavilion offered integrated consultation services in legal affairs, employment, and immigration during weekends, reflecting a broader community engagement component of the programme.
The Embassy emphasised that Indonesia’s economic diplomacy in Singapore is pursued through a people-to-people approach, aimed not only at facilitating transactions but also at building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships between the two countries.
The participation at the Bazaar is expected to further strengthen Indonesia–Singapore economic ties and provide continued opportunities for collaboration in trade, tourism, and creative industries in the coming months.
