Representatives of the European Union, Sweden, and Ukraine joined members of Singapore’s diplomatic and media community to commemorate the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine through the “One Voice for Ukraine” event held in Singapore. The programme featured a screening of the documentary Night Shift, highlighting solidarity with Ukraine and reaffirming continued support.

The commemorative event was organised in partnership with the Singapore Press Club, the Singapore Film Society, and other stakeholders, bringing together ambassadors of EU Member States, members of the international diplomatic corps, media representatives, and members of the public. The screening marked four years since the escalation of the war and served as a platform for reflection and international engagement.

The documentary Night Shift, directed by Singaporean journalist and filmmaker Megumi Lim, who is based in Kyiv, portrays the experiences of workers operating during nighttime amid ongoing conflict. The film captures daily life under conditions of insecurity, focusing on individuals who continue essential services despite the risks posed by nightly attacks. It also documents how the war has reshaped the cityscape and rhythms of life in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city.

The premiere was inaugurated with remarks by H.E. Kateryna Zelenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Singapore, and H.E. Artis Bertulis, Ambassador of the European Union to Singapore. Representatives reiterated their support for Ukraine and underscored the importance of international solidarity.

Sweden’s Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires, Joakim Ladeborn, attended the event, reflecting Sweden’s stated commitment to supporting Ukraine as part of its foreign policy priorities. In line with statements from EU representatives, the event reaffirmed continued backing for Ukraine’s sovereignty and efforts toward a just and lasting peace.

Organisers noted that the screening aimed to highlight resilience, civic responsibility, and the human dimension of conflict. The gathering concluded with a renewed expression of solidarity from participating diplomatic missions and partners, with continued engagement expected through future initiatives supporting dialogue, awareness, and international cooperation.
