
Event recognises Qur’an reciters and highlights community engagement during Ramadan in Singapore
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Singapore, Mohammad Abdullah S Alghamdi, attended the Nuzul Quran ceremony and graduation of Qur’an reciters and qira’at organised by Jamiyah Singapore on 8 March 2026. The event recognised graduates who had completed training in Qur’anic recitation and Islamic studies.

The ceremony formed part of Jamiyah Singapore’s Nuzul Quran programme during the Holy Month of Ramadan, bringing together members of the Muslim community to reflect on the spiritual significance of the Qur’an. The programme was held under the theme “Healing Through the Quran,” highlighting the role of the holy text in guiding personal reflection and strengthening community bonds as Muslims approach the final ten nights of Ramadan.

During the event, Ambassador Alghamdi underscored the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to supporting the study and preservation of the Qur’an and its sciences. He also commended Jamiyah Singapore for its efforts in nurturing Qur’an reciters and contributing to religious education and community service.
Participants and guests gathered for the ceremony and graduation programme, which recognised individuals who had completed training in Qur’anic recitation while also encouraging continued learning and engagement within the community.
The organisers noted that such initiatives play an important role in strengthening community ties and promoting religious knowledge. Jamiyah Singapore expressed appreciation to participants and partners for their support and conveyed hopes for continued collaboration in future programmes.
