Mr Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the Economic Community, led the ASEAN Secretariat’s delegation at the 13th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting (AFMGM) held via videoconference.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mr Frederick D. Go, Secretary of Finance of the Philippines, and Mr Eli M. Remolona Jr., Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. It brought together ASEAN finance ministers, central bank governors, and senior officials to discuss regional economic priorities.

Discussions focused on the global and regional economic outlook, including measures to mitigate the impact of ongoing economic and geopolitical developments on ASEAN. Participants also exchanged views on key initiatives under the ASEAN finance and central bank tracks, particularly those aimed at strengthening financial resilience and stability.

The meeting further provided guidance on policy measures to advance regional financial integration, with emphasis on supporting a sustainable and digital future. Topics included enhancing financial connectivity, promoting digital finance, and strengthening cooperation among ASEAN Member States.

The engagement underscored ASEAN’s continued commitment to coordinated economic policymaking and regional integration. Further collaboration among member states is expected to support the development of a resilient, inclusive, and digitally connected regional economy.
