A NEW RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT HIGHLIGHTS LEEDS’ TRANSFORMATION INTO A THRIVING URBAN HUB
Savills Singapore has announced the launch of The Opal at Dyecoats, a new riverside residential development in Leeds, as part of the city’s ongoing large-scale regeneration.
Developed by Latimer Homes, a subsidiary of Clarion Housing Group, Dyecoats is located within the West End Riverside Development Corridor, less than a mile from Leeds city centre. The masterplan is expected to deliver up to 1,860 homes, alongside landscaped public spaces, retail outlets and community amenities, transforming a historic waterfront into a new urban neighbourhood.

The Opal comprises 196 one- to three-bedroom apartments within a 16-storey tower overlooking the River Aire. Residents will benefit from a range of facilities including concierge services, co-working spaces, residents’ lounges and landscaped riverside walkways. The development will also feature access to a Food Hall and Public Square. Units are offered with a 999-year lease and a 10-year warranty from the National House Building Council, with completion anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Leeds continues to strengthen its position as a leading regional economic centre in the United Kingdom, recognised as the largest financial and professional services hub outside London. The city is home to major institutions such as the University of Leeds and Leeds Arts University, supporting a student population of more than 65,000. With a significant proportion of graduates choosing to remain in the city, Leeds maintains a strong and growing talent pool.
In addition to its economic credentials, the city offers a vibrant cultural scene, with venues including Leeds Playhouse and Leeds Art Gallery, as well as events such as the Leeds International Film Festival. Retail and leisure destinations, including Trinity Leeds and Victoria Gate, further enhance its appeal as a liveable and well-connected city.

Richard Cook, Chief Development Officer at Clarion Housing Group, stated that Dyecoats has been designed to reflect Leeds’ strong economic fundamentals, offering high-quality homes in a well-connected riverside setting. Meanwhile, Adrian Lim, Senior Director and Head of International Residential Sales at Savills Singapore, noted continued interest from Singapore-based investors, particularly in regional UK cities where regeneration, employment growth and a strong student base support long-term housing demand.
Savills Singapore will host a launch event for the development on 18 and 19 April 2026, from 11:00am to 6:00pm, with a seminar scheduled from 2:30pm onwards, at voco Orchard Singapore, Malaysia Room.
