Ambassador Mohammad Alghamdi joined Singapore officials and community leaders at Changi Airport to bid farewell to the final group of Singaporean Hajj pilgrims departing for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj season.

The final group, comprising around 300 pilgrims, departed for Madinah in the early hours of 14 May, following two earlier groups that departed on 9 May and 12 May. The farewell gathering formed part of Singapore’s annual Hajj departure arrangements, bringing together pilgrims, family members, religious leaders, and officials ahead of the pilgrimage to Mecca and Madinah. The event reflected the close coordination between Singaporean authorities and Saudi institutions in facilitating the Hajj journey for Singaporean Muslims.

During the occasion, Dr Faishal expressed appreciation for the continued support provided by the Saudi Embassy in Singapore and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in ensuring smooth travel and pilgrimage arrangements for Singaporean pilgrims. The cooperation included assistance related to logistics, travel coordination, and operational preparations throughout the Hajj season.

The presence of representatives from both Singapore and Saudi Arabia also underscored the longstanding bilateral cooperation in matters relating to religious affairs and community engagement. The Hajj Mission continues to work closely with relevant agencies to support the welfare and preparedness of Singaporean pilgrims during their stay in the Kingdom.

With all three groups having departed for Saudi Arabia, Singapore’s Hajj Mission is expected to continue providing operational and welfare support throughout the pilgrimage period as pilgrims undertake their religious journey.
