Alliance focuses on AI-powered enterprise transformation, agentic technology, and large-scale workforce deployment.

PwC and Anthropic have announced a major expansion of their strategic alliance, aimed at helping enterprises rebuild operations around artificial intelligence using Anthropic’s Claude platform.

The partnership will see PwC deploy Claude tools across its global workforce, beginning with teams in the United States and eventually expanding to hundreds of thousands of professionals worldwide.

As part of the agreement, the companies will establish a joint Center of Excellence and launch a large-scale certification program to train 30,000 PwC professionals on Claude technologies, including Claude Code and Claude Cowork.

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, said the focus has shifted from experimenting with AI to delivering real-world business results in industries where reliability and accuracy are critical.

Paul Griggs said businesses are now looking for secure and responsible AI systems that can produce measurable outcomes in complex environments.

The collaboration centers on three major areas:

  • Agentic technology development
  • AI-native deal-making
  • Reinvention of enterprise operations

PwC says engineering teams are already using Claude Code to develop production-ready software in weeks instead of months. The technology is being applied across financial services, healthcare, life sciences, and consumer industries.

The companies are also using AI agents to support mergers, acquisitions, and private equity deals by helping with diligence, integration, and value creation tasks.

Another major focus is enterprise transformation, where AI is being integrated into finance, supply chain, human resources, and engineering operations.

Office of the CFO Launch

PwC is launching a new finance-focused business unit called the “Office of the CFO,” built around Anthropic’s Claude technology stack.

The unit will support regulated sectors such as banking, insurance, and healthcare, where auditability and compliance are especially important. Services will range from improving individual finance tasks to redesigning entire finance functions using AI-native systems.

PwC also revealed that it first used Claude internally before offering the technology to clients. Teams used the AI platform for journal entries, annual planning, variance analysis, and proposal management.

AI Already Running in Production

The companies said Claude is already operating in several live enterprise deployments, delivering performance improvements of up to 70%.

Examples include:

  • Insurance underwriting reduced from ten weeks to ten days
  • Cybersecurity incident response reduced from hours to minutes
  • HR transformation systems processing thousands of daily transactions
  • Mainframe modernization projects completed on time and under budget
  • AI-powered sports management and digital fan engagement platforms

The partnership also targets industries with high operational complexity, including healthcare, life sciences, financial services, consumer markets, and industrial sectors.

Advocate Health Adopts AI Transformation

Advocate Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in the United States, is among the organizations working with PwC and Anthropic to scale AI adoption across its workforce of 167,000 employees.

Andy Crowder said the initiative aims to improve patient care, workforce productivity, and healthcare access, especially in rural communities.

Claude is currently integrated into ChatPwC, the company’s internal AI assistant, and is also connected to enterprise software tools through Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol.

Anthropic added that Claude is available across major cloud platforms, including Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure.
