365 Cancer Prevention Society (365CPS) has launched the 2026 edition of its #My1stProstateCheck campaign, offering free prostate cancer screening to eligible lower-income men in Singapore. The initiative, which runs from now until 31 July 2026, aims to improve access to early detection services and raise awareness of prostate cancer, the most commonly diagnosed cancer among men in Singapore.

The campaign marks the third consecutive year of the programme and is designed to encourage regular health screening among individuals who may face financial barriers to accessing preventive healthcare. Eligible participants include Singaporean men aged 50 and above, as well as men aged 45 and above with a first-degree family history of prostate cancer, who hold a valid blue or orange Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) card or a Public Assistance card.

Participants are required to complete the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) questionnaire to assess lower urinary tract symptoms. Individuals who record a score of seven or above will be referred for further screening, including a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test and/or a Transabdominal Ultrasound (TAUS), conducted through the programme’s healthcare partners.

According to data from the Singapore Cancer Registry, more than 8,100 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer between 2019 and 2023, accounting for approximately 18 per cent of all male cancer diagnoses. Medical professionals noted that while prostate cancer is highly treatable when detected early, many cases remain undiagnosed until symptoms appear at a later stage.

Mr. Andrew Soh, Assistant Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Volunteer Management at 365CPS, highlighted the importance of increasing awareness about screening options and encouraging men to make preventive health checks part of their regular healthcare routine. Healthcare specialists involved in the programme also emphasised the value of early detection in improving treatment outcomes and preserving quality of life.

The screening initiative is supported by healthcare partners including Advanced Medicine Imaging, HMI Medical Centre, and SATA CommHealth Centres. The campaign also seeks to address misconceptions surrounding prostate cancer screening by promoting accessible and non-invasive screening methods.

In addition to providing screening services, 365CPS has invited members of the public to support the campaign through donations, which will help subsidise screening costs for beneficiaries. Contributions will also support the organisation’s broader mission of cancer prevention, cancer support, and public education.

As Singapore continues to strengthen preventive healthcare efforts, 365CPS expressed its commitment to expanding awareness and encouraging early detection among at-risk groups. The organisation encouraged eligible individuals to register for screening before the 31 July 2026 deadline and to take proactive steps towards safeguarding their long-term health.
