More than 400 delegates from Vietnam and Singapore gathered in Singapore to explore new opportunities in technology, innovation and the digital economy, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in emerging industries and sustainable development
The Vietnam–Singapore Tech Connect Forum 2026 was successfully held in Singapore on 29 May 2026 as part of the official working visit of a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President To Lam. The event underscored the growing strategic partnership between the two nations, particularly in science, technology and innovation.
Jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, in collaboration with Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the forum attracted more than 400 participants from government agencies, research institutions, universities, businesses and investment funds. The gathering served as an important platform for fostering dialogue and strengthening cooperation in technology-driven sectors.
Throughout the forum, delegates exchanged insights on policies supporting scientific research, technological advancement and innovation ecosystems. Discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening connections between public institutions, academia and industry to accelerate technology transfer, commercialisation and the implementation of collaborative research projects.
A central theme of the forum was the promotion of the “triple-helix” model, which brings together government, research and training institutions, and businesses. Participants emphasised that this approach can help bridge the gap between research outcomes and market applications, enabling innovative technologies to be translated into practical solutions that generate economic value and support industrial transformation.
The forum also featured investment and business networking sessions aimed at expanding cross-border partnerships and innovation opportunities. Key areas of interest included artificial intelligence, deep technology, advanced manufacturing and the digital economy. The event further reinforced Vietnam and Singapore’s shared commitment to driving innovation-led growth and building a more sustainable and digitally connected future.
