Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam strengthened cooperation on AI standards to support regional digital transformation and innovation
Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Singapore attended the Standards & Conformance (S&C) Gala Dinner 2026 organised by Enterprise Singapore. The event commemorated the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s standardisation system and the 40th anniversary of its accreditation system, while reaffirming the role of standards and accreditation in supporting innovation, economic growth, and global trade.

The programme featured a keynote address by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong. During the event, representatives from Indonesia’s National Standardization Agency (BSN), Enterprise Singapore, and Vietnam’s Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on standards and conformance for artificial intelligence (AI). The agreement aimed to enhance institutional capacities and promote collaboration in the development and implementation of AI-related standards.
The Indonesia Embassy welcomed the trilateral collaboration as a positive step towards strengthening digital transformation, innovation, and the development of a trusted AI ecosystem in ASEAN. The Embassy noted that cooperation among standards institutions would contribute to enhancing regional connectivity and supporting ASEAN’s digital ambitions.
