The Kalayaan 2026 National Day Reception on 11 June in Singapore featured a culinary showcase of Filipino cuisine, bringing together Singapore-based Filipino restaurants, food businesses, and exporters. The event highlighted the role of food in strengthening people-to-people ties and cultural exchange between the Philippines and Singapore.
The reception was attended by guests from diplomatic, business, and community circles, who experienced a range of Filipino dishes and products presented through dedicated food booths. The setting reflected a celebratory atmosphere marking the Philippines’ National Day, with an emphasis on cultural representation through cuisine.
The event featured food booths from Singapore-based Filipino establishments, including Don Lechon, Lechon Republic, Ritch’s Lechon, Gerry’s Grill, Jollibee, Second Serving, and Emperador. Many of these businesses were also highlighted in the Embassy’s newly launched publication, “Flavors of Diplomacy: The Philippine Food Guide in the Lion City,” which profiles Filipino restaurants, food businesses, and entrepreneurs contributing to Singapore’s diverse culinary landscape.
The Embassy noted that the publication serves as a platform to recognise the growing presence and contribution of Filipino food enterprises in Singapore. With both halal and non-halal options available at the reception, the diversity of Filipino cuisine was showcased to guests, with popular items such as Jollibee drawing strong interest.
In collaboration with the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre–Singapore and Philippine Airlines, the event also featured Philippine food products from exporters and brands including Regent, Auro Chocolates, Kangkong King, Villa Socorro Farms, and Year Luck Foods. These products were distributed in curated goodie bags, offering guests a selection of Filipino-made goods.
The Embassy encouraged the public to explore the Flavors of Diplomacy Philippine Food Guide in Singapore, which highlights Filipino culinary businesses and initiatives promoting cultural and economic linkages.
