Indonesia Embassy in Singapore launched the MASA Marketplace creative economy showcase at Takashimaya Department Store, Ngee Ann City, on 2 July 2026.

The event formed part of Indonesia’s efforts to promote its creative economy internationally while providing a platform for Indonesian brands, entrepreneurs, and creative enterprises to expand their presence in Singapore. Organised under the theme “MASA: A Sight into Indonesia’s Golden Era,” the showcase presented Indonesian products, innovation, and cultural creativity to local and international audiences.

The opening ceremony commenced with welcoming remarks by MASA Executive Director Heliandi (Ando) Fajar Saputra, who introduced the exhibition’s concept and objectives. This was followed by remarks from an Astra representative, highlighting private sector support for Indonesia’s growing creative economy and cross-border collaboration.

Indonesia’s Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, delivered official remarks, reaffirming the importance of cultural diplomacy and the role of creative industries in strengthening Indonesia–Singapore relations. He emphasised that initiatives such as MASA contributed to deeper people-to-people connections while creating new opportunities for business partnerships and economic cooperation.

Vice Minister of Creative Economy Ms. Irene Umar delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Government of Indonesia. She underscored the significance of Indonesia’s creative economy as a driver of innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth. She also highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting Indonesian creative businesses in accessing international markets and strengthening regional collaboration.

The ceremony featured a symbolic opening in which Vice Minister Irene Umar, Ambassador Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, an Astra representative, and MASA Impact Advisor Mrs. Tiara Josodirjo officially inaugurated the exhibition by striking the MASA Stone. The ceremony was followed by a group photograph and a guided tour of the exhibition, introducing invited guests and media representatives to featured brands, installations, and creative showcases.

The programme concluded with a networking session, allowing government officials, business representatives, industry stakeholders, and visitors to engage with participating exhibitors, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations across Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem.
