India and Australia announced a series of partnership outcomes during the Third India-Australia Annual Summit between Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese, further strengthening the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across defence, energy security, cyber cooperation and critical technologies.

Among the key outcomes was the India-Australia Joint Declaration on Defence and Security Cooperation, reaffirming both countries’ commitment to enhancing defence collaboration, maritime security, defence industry engagement and regular strategic dialogue. The declaration reflects the shared objective of promoting a secure, stable and rules-based Indo-Pacific.

The leaders also adopted a Joint Statement on Energy Security, outlining closer cooperation in renewable energy, clean technologies, hydrogen, critical minerals and resilient energy supply chains. The initiative supports both countries’ efforts to strengthen energy resilience while advancing sustainable economic growth and the transition to cleaner energy sources.

Another major outcome was the launch of the Australia-India Partnership on Cyber, Critical Technologies and Supply Chains, which aims to expand collaboration in cybersecurity, digital innovation, emerging technologies, trusted telecommunications and resilient supply networks. The partnership is expected to encourage greater cooperation between governments, industry and research institutions in addressing future technological challenges.

The summit also delivered initiatives to strengthen bilateral trade and investment, promote scientific research and innovation, deepen education partnerships and expand mobility and people-to-people exchanges. Both leaders welcomed continued collaboration through regional and multilateral forums in support of a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

The outcomes announced during the summit demonstrate the growing depth of the India-Australia relationship and reaffirm both governments’ commitment to building a resilient, innovative and forward-looking partnership that delivers lasting benefits for their people and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
