
H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming attended the China-Southeast Asia Economic and Finance Forum 2026 in Singapore on 7 July 2026, highlighting opportunities for deeper economic, trade and financial cooperation between China and Southeast Asia.
H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming attended the China-Southeast Asia Economic and Finance Forum 2026 hosted by China International Capital Corporation (CICC) in Singapore on 7 July 2026, where he delivered a keynote speech on regional economic cooperation and financial collaboration.
In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming noted that 2026 marks the launch of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. He stated that despite severe and complex external challenges, China’s economy continues to maintain steady growth momentum and has contributed to global economic stability amid a sluggish international economic environment.

H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming highlighted Southeast Asia as an important destination for Chinese enterprises seeking overseas cooperation. He said that economic, trade and financial cooperation between China and Southeast Asian countries has continued to create benefits for businesses and communities across the region.
He also noted that China has introduced new measures to further open its investment and financial sectors, creating additional opportunities for regional collaboration. H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming expressed China’s willingness to work with stakeholders to further strengthen China-Southeast Asia economic and financial cooperation and achieve more practical outcomes.
The forum, held under the theme “Strategic Navigation in an Era of Radical Shocks: Redefining Capital Flows and Supply Synergy”, brought together more than 200 government and business representatives from China, Singapore and other Southeast Asian economies to discuss regional economic trends and future cooperation opportunities.
