As the first half of 2026 came to a close, new search data from Booking.com revealed that Vietnam’s coastal cities remained the top choice for domestic travellers. Covering the period from January to June—including Tết, spring holidays, and the start of summer—the findings reflect a strong preference for beach holidays alongside cultural and nature-based experiences. Iconic attractions such as Hạ Long Bay also continue to reinforce Vietnam’s appeal as one of Southeast Asia’s leading travel destinations.

Da Nang ranked as the most-searched domestic destination, recording a 25 per cent year-on-year increase in accommodation searches. The coastal city continues to attract visitors with its beaches, vibrant food scene, and proximity to Hội An and Huế. Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang followed in second and third place, while Ninh Bình, Nha Trang, and Phú Quốc each saw search growth of more than 20 per cent compared with the same period last year. Emerging destinations such as Quy Nhơn, Cam Ranh, and Cần Thơ also experienced rising interest among travellers.

According to Booking.com’s travel research, 92 per cent of Vietnamese travellers consider access to a great beach an important factor when choosing a holiday destination, explaining the continued popularity of coastal locations. The top ten most-searched domestic destinations were Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Đà Lạt, Hà Nội, Vũng Tàu, Phú Quốc, Hội An, Huế, and Ninh Bình, reflecting Vietnam’s diverse tourism offerings, from bustling cities and historic towns to picturesque coastlines and natural landscapes.
