Thai Ambassador H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee paid a courtesy visit to Sattha Puchaniyaram Buddhist Temple, reaffirming Thailand’s commitment to supporting Buddhist institutions and fostering cultural and spiritual ties in Singapore.
H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, accompanied by representatives from the Office of Labour Affairs in Singapore, paid a courtesy call on Phrakhru Santidhampitak, Abbot of Sattha Puchaniyaram Buddhist Temple, on 15 July 2026. The visit marked the Ambassador’s official introduction following her assumption of office and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to maintaining close ties with the Thai community and Buddhist institutions in Singapore.
During the meeting, Ambassador Waraphannee and Phrakhru Santidhampitak exchanged views on promoting and spreading Buddhism in Singapore, recognising its role in fostering compassion, harmony and cultural understanding within the country’s multicultural society. They also discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in preserving Buddhist teachings and traditions for future generations.
The discussions further highlighted the important role of Sattha Puchaniyaram Buddhist Temple as a spiritual and cultural centre serving Buddhists in Singapore. Both sides emphasised continued support for the temple’s activities, benefiting Thai nationals living in Singapore while welcoming Singaporean Buddhists and foreign devotees seeking spiritual guidance and cultural connection.
Ambassador Waraphannee reaffirmed the Royal Thai Embassy’s commitment to working closely with the temple and relevant organisations to support religious, cultural and community initiatives. The courtesy call underscored the enduring partnership between the Embassy and Sattha Puchaniyaram Buddhist Temple in promoting Buddhist values and strengthening the bonds of friendship between Thailand and Singapore.
