Indonesia revised its visa-free policy under Presidential Regulation No. 95 of 2024, replacing the broader programme introduced in 2016. The updated framework reflects the country’s focus on regional cooperation, diplomatic relations and national interests while continuing to support international travel.
As of 2026, visa-free entry is available to citizens of all ASEAN member states: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. The scheme also applies to eligible travellers from Hong Kong, Suriname, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Türkiye. Recent regulations have further expanded eligibility to include Kazakhstan, Macau SAR and Belarus.
Eligible travellers may enter Indonesia without a visa for up to 30 days for permitted short-term visit purposes under prevailing regulations. The visa-free stay cannot be extended or converted into another type of visa. Travellers intending to work, study or stay longer must obtain the appropriate visa before departure.
Special arrangements also apply to certain travellers. Eligible Singapore Permanent Residents may enjoy visa-free entry through designated entry points serving Batam and Bintan, while holders of a valid APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) may receive separate immigration privileges in accordance with Indonesian regulations.
To meet Indonesia entry requirements, visitors must hold a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival and may be asked to present proof of onward or return travel. Entry must be made through authorised international airports, seaports or land border checkpoints.
