H.E. SOK Khoeun highlighted more than six decades of Cambodia–Singapore friendship and expressed confidence in expanding cooperation across traditional and emerging sectors.
In a commemorative message featured in IN Diplomacy’s Singapore 61 National Day Special Feature, H.E. Ambassador Sok Khoeun congratulated Singapore on its 61st National Day and highlighted the longstanding friendship between Cambodia and Singapore. He also underscored the continued expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, sustainability and regional affairs.

“On the joyous occasion of the 61st Anniversary of National Day of the Republic of Singapore, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Singapore extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and the friendly people of Singapore. As they have done every year since independence, Singaporeans celebrate this very joyful moment with great pride, not only in the past achievements they have accomplished, but also in aspirations and opportunities that lie ahead. They look to the future in confidence, ambition and resilience.
Over the past sixty-one years, Singapore has achieved an extraordinary transformation from a young nation with limited natural resources into one of the world’s most prosperous, developed, and globally connected economies. Guided by visionary leadership, sound governance, and the resilience and dedication of people, Singapore has become a leading global hub for finance, maritime services, logistics, aviation, advanced manufacturing, and, increasingly, artificial intelligence and digital innovation. These remarkable achievements have elevated Singapore’s standing on the global stage and earned international respect and admiration and serve as a valuable model and source of inspiration for many countries.
As Singapore celebrates the 61st birthday anniversary, Cambodia and Singapore also commemorate the 61st anniversary of diplomatic relations, bearing testament to the remarkable journey of fruitful cooperation and partnership that the two countries have developed and nurtured. Cambodia values its longstanding friendship and relationship with Singapore, built on mutual trust, respect, understanding and shared aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity. Cambodia and Singapore shared excellent relations. Over the past six decades, our bilateral relations have continued to deepen across a wide range of sectors such as trade, investment, finance, defense and security, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. The exchange of visits by both countries’ leaders advanced and strengthened the close ties. The bilateral trade has exceeded S$5.95 billion in 2025 while Singapore remains one of Cambodia’s top foreign direct investments, making significant contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic development and human resource capacity building. This reflects confidence on Cambodia’s investment potential and future growth.
Looking ahead, Cambodia and Singapore are expanding cooperation into new and emerging areas, including renewable energy, carbon credit cooperation, food trade, digital transformation, innovation, and the green economy. Both parties are working towards concluding the agreement implementation on the carbon credits. These efforts will foster more resilience, sustainable growth, and shared prosperity for both countries and for the ASEAN region.
As close friends and partners within the ASEAN family, Cambodia and Singapore work closely to strengthening ASEAN centrality, promote regional peace and prosperity, maintain an open and inclusive architecture, uphold rules-based international order, and address common challenges that we face. We support each other on the international arena.
On this special occasion, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Singapore wishes the Republic of Singapore continued peace, prosperity, harmony and success, and the people of Singapore happiness and well-being.
