
Thailand’s Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, reaffirmed his country’s unwavering commitment to ASEAN during a policy speech at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta. The address underscored Thailand’s support for the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future and the vision of a resilient, innovative, dynamic and people-centred ASEAN Community.
H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, delivered a Policy Speech at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat on 4 August 2026, reaffirming Thailand’s enduring commitment to ASEAN and its active role in advancing regional integration. Addressing representatives from across the ASEAN community, the Prime Minister highlighted Thailand’s continued support for the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, which provides the long-term strategic vision for a resilient, innovative, dynamic and people-centred ASEAN.

In his address, Prime Minister Anutin emphasised the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to address shared opportunities and emerging challenges. He reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to working closely with fellow ASEAN Member States in promoting sustainable development, economic resilience, regional connectivity and inclusive growth, while ensuring that the benefits of integration continue to reach the people of ASEAN.

The event commenced with opening remarks by ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, who praised Prime Minister Anutin’s distinguished leadership and recognised Thailand’s longstanding contributions to ASEAN’s development. Dr. Kao highlighted Thailand’s pivotal role in advancing the region’s shared aspirations for peace, stability and prosperity, while reinforcing the value of collective action in navigating an increasingly complex regional and global landscape.

Dr. Kao also underscored the significance of high-level engagements by ASEAN Leaders in shaping regional discourse and fostering stronger collaboration among the diplomatic corps, Entities associated with ASEAN, academia, think tanks, the business community and the ASEAN Secretariat. Such engagements, he noted, help strengthen dialogue, promote greater understanding of ASEAN’s priorities and support the effective implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.

The Policy Speech reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to ASEAN’s long-term agenda and highlighted the importance of sustained leadership, partnership and dialogue in building a stronger and more future-ready regional community. As ASEAN moves forward with the implementation of its 2045 vision, continued cooperation among Member States and stakeholders will remain essential to achieving shared prosperity and resilience across the region.
