
ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and advancing mutual interests during a high-level meeting at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta. Discussions focused on regional developments and the implementation of the ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Work Plan 2021–2026.
The Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance convened on 5 August 2026 at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, in a hybrid format, to exchange views on regional developments and explore opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two regional groupings.

The meeting provided a platform for ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance to discuss developments in their respective regions, highlighting the importance of dialogue and closer engagement amid an evolving regional and global landscape. Participants exchanged perspectives on areas of shared interest and reaffirmed the value of continued collaboration for mutual benefit.

A key focus of the meeting was the implementation of the ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Work Plan 2021–2026. Participants reviewed progress under the work plan and discussed efforts to advance cooperation between ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance, with a continued emphasis on practical engagement and strengthening institutional ties.

The meeting brought together the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, the National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance, the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Political-Security Community, as well as Ambassadors and representatives of the Embassies of Pacific Alliance Member Countries in Jakarta.


The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to further strengthening ASEAN-Pacific Alliance cooperation and promoting closer ties between the two regions. The continued engagement reflects the mutual interest of both sides in expanding cooperation and pursuing opportunities that contribute to shared prosperity and long-term regional partnerships.
