Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, this afternoon welcomed and engaged with participants of the fifth ASEAN Junior Fellowship Programme with the ASEAN Secretariat (AJFP). The session brought together 23 junior fellows from ASEAN Member States for an open exchange on ASEAN’s work, priorities and regional cooperation efforts.

During the candid engagement, Dr. Kao shared valuable insights into the role and responsibilities of the Secretary-General of ASEAN, including the leadership required to support ASEAN’s regional agenda. The discussion also provided the junior fellows with a closer understanding of how the ASEAN Secretariat supports Member States in advancing cooperation across various areas.

The Secretary-General also highlighted the work of the ASEAN Secretariat in facilitating coordination among ASEAN Member States and supporting the implementation of regional commitments.
